SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

Job Description

GCubed Technology is searching for an experienced System Administrator to support the Center for Army Analysis on Fort Belvoir. We have an immediate need to fill this full-time onsite support position with a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise in order to fully utilize VMware to identify operational and processing problems, evaluate alternative approaches, and perform, plan, and implement recommended resolutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems
  • Provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance
  • Conduct capacity and performance analysis, and provide system configuration change and upgrade recommendations
  • Increase system administration efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment
  • Determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities and programming techniques and controls
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems and performs system capacity analysis and planning
  • Maintain servers, creates monitoring reports and logs, and ensure functionality of system links
  • Monitor systems for acceptable performance and user accessibility, establish back-ups, and monitor systems security
  • Perform multiple tasks concurrently and responds to emergency situation effectively
  • Create and manage Group Policies (GPO)
  • Perform security patches, software installation and update using GPO or SCCM server
  • Troubleshoot, configure, and manager Windows servers (domain controllers, application servers, Exchange servers, file servers)
  • Provide technical expertise in order to fully utilize Virtual Machine (VM) ware to identify operational and processing problems, evaluate alternative approaches, and perform, plan and implement recommended resolutions, such as load capacity analysis, trend monitoring, resources utilization, and system analysis
  • Install, test, operate, troubleshoot and maintain virtualized server hardware, operating systems, and applications Software in accordance with DISA STIGS
  • Test virtualized solutions prior to release into production and administer of the lab environment
  • Working with VMWare virtual machines and VSAN technologies

Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Active Secret Clearance
  • Minimum six (6) years of system administrator experience
  • Security+ Certification
  • CompTIA Server+ Certification or MCSA Windows Server 2008 Certification or MCP Certification Windows Server 2012
  • Working knowledge of VMWare
  • Working knowledge of Windows 2008/2012 servers Active Directory environment
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask

HELP DESK SPECIALIST

Job Description

We have an immediate need for a Help Desk Specialist to support an important government customer. The Help Desk Specialist shall provide technical assistance to the customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Screens, refers and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers and related systems
  • Installs, configures, and upgrades computer hardware and software
  • Provides end-user software troubleshooting and support
  • Applies advanced diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions
  • Provides troubleshooting and support
  • Participates in the administration of e-mail systems
  • Provides phone and help-desk support for local and off-site users
  • Analyzes customer needs to determine functional and cross-functional requirements
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned

Requirements:

SENIOR UNIX SYSTEMS ENGINEER

GCubed Technology is searching for an experienced Unix Systems Engineer to support the Center for Army Analysis on Fort Belvoir, VA. We have an immediate need to fill this full-time onsite support position with a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise in order to fully utilize Unix Systems to identify operational and processing problems, evaluate alternative approaches, and perform, plan, and implement recommended resolutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Receipt of user trouble tickets or work orders via email, phone, or in person and entering them into an automated help desk trouble ticket/work order tracking system (currently using TrackIT)
  • Performs Backups of Unix File Systems
  • Keep user informed on the status of their trouble ticket/work orders
  • Notifies users when trouble ticket/work order is received
  • Contact users via email or phone to inform of status changes while trouble ticket/work order is in process
  • Notify users when trouble ticket/work order is closed
  • Monitor and follow-up all open Unix trouble tickets/work orders
  • Contact external vendors on the repair of Oracle Solaris serves and equipment under warranty or under a maintenance contract. Conduct follow-up of vendor support tickets until issue is resolved
  • Generate a daily report of the status of all open trouble tickets/work orders to the Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer.
  • Create and maintain user Unix and network accounts.
  • Perform maintenance, security patching, and system updates.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum of at least 10 years of experience as a System Engineer
  • Minimum of at least 5 years of experience as a UNIX System Engineer
  • Minimum of an active Secret Security Clearance
  • CompTIA Security +
  • Completion of one of the following certifications: Oracle Solaris System Administrator (OCA) or Oracle Solaris System Administrator (OCP) or Oracle Solaris Cluster System Administrator (OCP)

DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

GCubed Technology is searching for an experienced Desktop Support Technician to support the Center for Army Analysis on Fort Belvoir, VA. We have an immediate need to fill this full-time onsite support position with a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise in order to identify operational and processing problems, evaluate alternative approaches, and perform, plan, and implement recommended resolutions.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide Windows Desktop System Administration services and be responsible for the installation, configuration, overall management of all hardware and software related to CAA’s desktop/laptop computing environment.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot the approved standard suite of software. User requests for software assistance shall be submitted through TrackIT/FootPrints service tickets.
  • The contractor is responsible for physically transporting and placing PCs/workstations/ laptops/ printers/faxes/phones to areas within CAA’s office building and joining the PCs, workstations, and laptops to the designated network.
  • Respond with answers to user’s questions related to establishing network passwords, publishing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates to support Common Access Card (CAC) login and e-mail encryption/ digital signature, creating network drives, and setting up Microsoft Outlook.
  • Perform manual installation of software, software upgrades, and software security patches on PCs/workstations/laptops.
  • Create and update drive images with GHOST software for PC/workstation/laptop configurations; imaging process shall be automated.
  • Contact external vendors if needed to repair hardware/software under warranty or under a maintenance contract.
  • Perform hardware troubleshooting and repair (using government furnished computer parts) on PCs/workstations/laptops not under warranty or under a maintenance contract.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PC/workstation/printer to network connectivity issues in response to users submitting a service request through CAA’s ticketing system.
  • Keeps PC/workstation/laptop antivirus software up-to-date using automated and manual procedures.
  • Quarantines, cleans virus affected PCs/workstations and laptops. In the event a PC cannot be cleaned, PC/workstations and laptops shall be re-imaged.
  • As part of Daily Status Reporting utilizing Ricoh web interface, remotely monitor status of network printers to identify impending maintenance, repair, and supply needs and report that status to the Government IT Operations Manager through Daily reporting or verbally/e-mail should immediate action be required by Gov’t personnel.
  • Monitor CAA’s software inventories tracked within the software tracking spreadsheet and alerts the Government IT Operations Manager verbally or via e-mail when availability issues might be forecasted to occur.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an enterprise helpdesk or desktop support role
  • Minimum of an Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Security+ Certification (Required)
  • One of the following certifications is required: A+ Certification, MCP, or a Microsoft Certification
  • Experience with desktop support
  • Identify, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders, and replace parts as needed
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows 7
  • Must be able to interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills a must
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

SENIOR DATA ARCHITECT

GCubed Technology, Inc. is searching for an experienced Data Architect to support the Center for Army Analysis on Fort Belvoir, VA. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise in order to identify operational and processing problems, evaluate alternative approaches, and perform, plan, and implement recommended resolutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in the areas of business intelligence, data mining and visualization and assessment of data quality and consistency across platforms, products and geographical areas.
  • Provide formal and informal input related to specified areas.
  • Consult with information technology, staff to implement scripts, programs, databases, and software components that will support product quality.
  • Work with the Data Management Team to gain an understanding of their requirements related to the use of data.
  • Participate in data management working groups.
  • Gather requirements, gaining business consensus, performing vendor and product evaluations, training and documentation.
  • Work Data Management Team to gather requirements and gain business consensus.
  • Provide recommendations related to training that will enhance the skillsets of the Data Analysts.
  • Provide documentation related to the specified areas, when required. Documentation shall be provided using slides, charts, and/or graphs.
  • Establishes standards and guidelines for tuning, deployment and maintenance of information, text mining models and physical data persistence technologies.
  • Works with staff to understand the business requirements and business processes to support data warehouse (“DW”) schema and define extract-translate-load (“ETL”) and/or extract-load-translate (“ELT”) processes for DW.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering).
  • Advanced degree in Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science or related fields is a plus.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which both professional and management capabilities have been clearly demonstrated.
  • A minimum of an Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Extensive expertise in Oracle/SQL/MySQL database, as well as data modeling, both logical and physical.
  • Extensive experience in multidimensional data modeling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, normalized and de-normalized models, handling “slow-changing” dimensions/attributes.
  • Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding verbal, written and visual presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, establishing strategic objectives, project plans and milestone goals.
  • Extensive experience providing practical direction on information and analytics platforms in conjunction with EDW tools and technologies.
  • Experience using with project management, ITIL and SDLC methodologies.
  • Solid experience with Data Warehouse and BI systems; extensive experience for collecting business requirements from customers, and transform the requirements into DB data processes and data schema.
  • Knowledge of relational SQL databases and SQL in at least one of the following environments: Oracle. Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL
  • Have a solid understanding of key Business Intelligence (BI) trends.

SENIOR .NET DEVELOPER

GCubed Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior .NET Developer who can support a Department of Defense client in Arlington, VA.  The individual will work on a team supporting multiple DoD information systems and will be hands on with various technologies and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively work with a team of developers, testers, business analysts and managers on a daily basis
  • Be an integral part of the full software development life cycle from requirements gathering through delivery
  • Translate software requirements into workable web based applications, including writing specifications and designs, building, testing, implementing and supporting applications using .NET and other programming languages and development tools
  • Review existing systems and assist in making improvements with an emphasis on increasing user satisfaction, efficiency, and scalability while reducing code complexity
  • Troubleshoot defects in existing systems and provide solutions quickly
